Sure, you can wear them any time of year, but a scarf never feels as cozy as it does during the Autumn months. If I could wear a scarf every single day from September 15 through November 30, I would. Bonus: it dresses up just about any plain ole outfit. The patterns and fabrics are endless! You can go plain, playful, or anything in between. Love, love, love.
A dear friend of mine got me a gift card to Gorjana – Griffin for my birthday a couple weeks ago. I won’t lie, when I opened it I thought to myself “who??”. But I visited the website and found myself drooling over almost everything they sell. Love, love, love. Their pieces are so delicate and feminine but still make a statement – that’s a hard balance to reach. They’re having a sale right now on some pretty awesome stuff, including a fantastic jewelry case for travel so don’t miss it. Here are my faves.
If you couldn’t have guessed by now, I really love shopping. But something about the idea of shoe shopping makes me want to turn around and run. I don’t know what it is or where this started, but I just don’t like it. Shoe shopping online, however….A-OK. Here are some of my favorite perfect-for-the-office or dress it up for date night neutrals:
I’ve been slacking on my posts lately in a major way. Between being busy with life and trying to soak in as much sun as I can now that it’s finally here, I’ve found myself neglecting this quaint little blog. But I’m back!
In the past week or so, I went from wearing my winter coat to sweating in sun dresses and ninety degree weather…thank you New England weather! I thought it would be appropriate to bring on the beachy weather with a post about some fab swimsuits and cover-ups I’ve come across. Here are some that I’m particularly fond of:
Spring is such a fresh, fun time of year. Everything is blooming and you get to finally thaw out after the cold of Winter. Sounds like a perfect occasion to throw a lovely get-together! Some must-haves: fresh flowers, crisp cocktails, finger foods, and flowy dresses.
Spring marks the start of wedding season! It’s amazing being able to be there to share the day with your friends and family, but weddings can be costly. From showers to bachelorette parties to wedding gifts & outfits, it all adds up. Let’s face it, all eyes will not be on you the day of the wedding, but you still want to look nice and feel great (without upstaging the bride, of course). That’s why I love, love, love Rent the Runway. Amazing dresses & accessories that won’t break the bank. Here are my favorites:
There is nothing that Elie Saab has created that isn’t absolutely stunning. Every collection he has put out has been so incredibly detailed, delicate and feminine. If I could wear Elie Saab every day of my life I would be one happy girl. Aside from all of the precise details, the shape and flow of each garment is unlike any other designer. I can gush about Elie Saab all day, but I think his work speaks for itself.
I seem to have a problem with my bony elbows lately. In one week, I managed to bust through the elbows of 3 shirts… sadly, no, that isn’t a typo. Hence my new-found love for elbow pads. Function & fashion? It’s a win-win. I haven’t actually sewn elbow pads onto my shirts yet, but expect to see me wearing a lot more of them in the coming weeks!
Today is my sister’s 30th birthday party. That’s her to with the ‘stache looking charming as ever. (Photo from the fabulous HK Photography.)
I wanted to get her something extra thoughtful since 30 is kind of a big deal. It all started with this Pottery Barn jewelry box, because what girl wouldn’t want a beautiful place to store her precious pieces?
Then it turned into thinking ‘A jewelry box without jewelry in it? Lame.’ So some of her closest friends and I got together to get her something wonderful. We ended up finding a beautiful rose gold eternity ring with white diamonds – for her middle finger so it doesn’t look like a wedding band.
I love that it’s simple & delicate enough to layer, and pretty enough to wear alone. I don’t know the name of the designer, but it looks similar to these from Ylang|23:
