Sure, you can wear them any time of year, but a scarf never feels as cozy as it does during the Autumn months. If I could wear a scarf every single day from September 15 through November 30, I would. Bonus: it dresses up just about any plain ole outfit. The patterns and fabrics are endless! You can go plain, playful, or anything in between. Love, love, love.
I love the Fall! The crisp air, leaves changing color, the nostalgia of going back to college after a long summer, and of course the apple picking!
A friend of mine recently moved back to the area after a few years out West, and just down the street from her new place are a cluster of apple orchards. Alan and I made our way down to meet her and her boyfriend and a few hours later, we had ourselves a couple sacks of apples, a belly full of apple cider donuts, and an arm full of mini pumpkins!
What to do with all these miniature pumpkins? Turn them into festive decor, of course. I will admit, sometimes pumpkin orange just doesn’t go with your home’s color palette. But a little gold paint and a paint brush will take you a long way (or you can use spray paint as an alternative).
Layer the gold paint onto the pumpkin, using varying amounts of paint for each one. The end result: gold ombre pumpkins! How cute are these little guys – and they only took minutes to make.
A dear friend of mine got me a gift card to Gorjana – Griffin for my birthday a couple weeks ago. I won’t lie, when I opened it I thought to myself “who??”. But I visited the website and found myself drooling over almost everything they sell. Love, love, love. Their pieces are so delicate and feminine but still make a statement – that’s a hard balance to reach. They’re having a sale right now on some pretty awesome stuff, including a fantastic jewelry case for travel so don’t miss it. Here are my faves.
If you couldn’t have guessed by now, I really love shopping. But something about the idea of shoe shopping makes me want to turn around and run. I don’t know what it is or where this started, but I just don’t like it. Shoe shopping online, however….A-OK. Here are some of my favorite perfect-for-the-office or dress it up for date night neutrals:
Happy Father’s Day Daddy! You’re one impressive guy to have been able to raise two lovely ladies like Kristina and I – I know it wasn’t always a walk in a park but we turned out pretty awesome. Thank you for always setting a great example and being a such a wonderful, supportive dad. I love you!
We’ve been lucky with our wedding vendors so far. We absolutely loved the first photographer and DJ we met with. Cakes on the other hand seems to be more of a challenge. Ok, maybe I’ve spoken too soon since we’ve only met with one so far. But we just didn’t love her and there’s no need to settle with so many cakes to be tasted! In addition to cake, we’re going to have a dessert table if someone wants an extra sweet little nibble after dinner. Not a huge elaborate dessert table, but beautifully displayed…aesthetics are #1 on my list for the wedding day. If it doesn’t look pretty I don’t want anything to do with it (there may be an ounce of bridezilla in me). But I digress. I’m not sure exactly which look of the cake I like best. I want to keep it simple and clean and elegant but still gorgeous. Here are some ideas.
I’ve been slacking on my posts lately in a major way. Between being busy with life and trying to soak in as much sun as I can now that it’s finally here, I’ve found myself neglecting this quaint little blog. But I’m back!
In the past week or so, I went from wearing my winter coat to sweating in sun dresses and ninety degree weather…thank you New England weather! I thought it would be appropriate to bring on the beachy weather with a post about some fab swimsuits and cover-ups I’ve come across. Here are some that I’m particularly fond of:
Love it, love it, love…it. I don’t know if all of these would technically be classified as French Provincial, but I’m gonna go with it anyway. And you can get all of these pieces now at wonderfully discounted rates from One Kings Lane or Joss & Main. You’re welcome!
One of my favorite Springtime activities is going on picnics with Alan. On a beautiful day, there is something so relaxing and romantic about finding a lovely spot in the park and plopping ourselves down with a plate of fruits and cheeses and a bottle of wine. Ahhh! It makes me so happy just thinking about it! Here are some picnic essentials for your next excursion:
Happy Mother’s Day! I know everyone thinks they do, but I really have the best mom in the world. Mommy, thank you for being the most patient, kind and loving person I know. You’re one of a kind. I love you!
